Who are we?
We are proudly owned & operated by Mr. Pastie Food Company, LLC, committed to make our Mr. Pastie brand a household name. Our mission is simple - the customer always comes first as we strive to make the most delicious product for you, every time. Our staff is a collective of men & women who are up before daybreak ready to make fresh handmade pasties 5 days a week. Pasties are sold in-store here in Pen Argyl, or you can find us in grocery stores across the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Where are we?
Pen Argyl, in the Slate Belt region of Northeast Pennsylvania, is where we've called home for over 30 years. Our retail store & bakery is located on East Bell Avenue and we're about 30 minutes from the Lehigh Valley & 20 minutes from Stroudsburg.
What's a pastie?
Mr. Pastie produces fresh, warm meat & vegetable turnovers called pasties. Pasties are traditional in the coal mining regions of Pennsylvania and in Welsh communities around the world. Many hardworking quarrymen with Cornish ancestors carried a pastie in a "blickey" (metal lunch pail) for "peace" (break time). Only a pastie was big enough to satisfy their lunchtime appetites. Mr. Pastie meat and vegetable are always handmade and finger-crimped. The homemade pasties still melt in your mouth. The secret is in the crust; tender and flaky pie crust. Enjoy Mr. Pastie as a hot lunch on the go, a sit-down dinner, or even "brown-bag it" as a cold sandwich. There are partially baked varieties and fully baked heat ‘n’ eat microwaveable varieties.
